New image, 2368 x 1344 Use the Pen Tool to make a selection looking like low rolling hills on the horizon, fill it with black in a new layer. Do Edit>Fill with a brown-ish color. Add a gradient overlay, blend mode Overlay, angle 90, from grey to white to dark grey. For the Gradient Tool, make a background layer if there is not already one and create a gradient from dark orange to yellow to light blue to blue, representing sunset colors. Slant it slightly, higher on the left. Use the Dodge tool to brighten the area on the left. Be sure to turn off Protect Tones. Next, use the Dodge tool to create a sun. Apply the Burn Tool to the top right hand part of the sky. Use the Dodge and Burn tools on the dune part of the desert below as well, to give it a more textured effect. Make the right side of the desert darker with the Burn tool. Find a picture of cirrus clouds on the Internet. Copy and paste it into photoshop. Select the blue part of the sky using Color Range and erase it. Erase neatly around the edges of the image. Apply a Gradient Overlay, angle 50%, from light orange on the left, to dark red on the right. On the desert, apply a pattern overlay with blend mode Overlay and make sure that the pattern is Wood. Also on the desert, apply a Drop Shadow of blend mode Multiply, color Orange, and angle -42 degrees. Done!
