Portfolio #2: Snowy Mountains Make a new image, 1383 by 960. Make a background layer with a gradient from light blue to dark blue, to look like sky, as shown below. Make 3 layers, all looking like jagged mountains like the ones below using the Brush tool and the Eraser tool. For each one, add a Bevel and Emboss from the layer style window, technique Chisel hard, with all the other default settings. Then add a Texture, any texture, with default depth. Then, for each of the three mountain layers, create a blank layer under it, and merge it down to the blank layer, removing all the effects. Next, for each mountain layer, change the foreground color to 50% gray and do Select>Color Range with a fuzziness of 10, and then do Edit>Fill>White with Preserve Transparency on. Next, use the Burn tool on each layer to create shadows, like the ones shown below. Next, add a jagged mountain layer in between the background and foreground, entirely black and with an opacity of 50%, again using the Brush and Eraser tools. Add a layer above that but still below the foreground. Create clouds and a crescent moon with the Brush and Eraser tools. That's it.
